This is a collection of expression of supposition and the survey into students' ability in translating English expressions of supposition into Vietnamese. This paper is carried out to discover how English - majored students at DTU render English expressions of supposition into Vietnamese and the difficulties they may encounter when translating. The thesis then also suggests some implication on teaching and learning the mater.

About English - majored students' problems in translating English pasive sentences into Vietnamese. An analysis of errors that students make in translating English passive sentences as well as in choosing aquivalent translated versions will be carried out. The paper also includes implications for teaching and studying passive sentence translation.

The study investigates the verb do in English newspapers in terms of syntax and semantics. The verb do is used in a dozen of situation in daily communication and other documents. Its multi - functions in grammatical aspect and its segment of meanings in semantics aspect make up quite uneasy to master all it. The study expects to enable English learners have thorough insight about this verb in both aspects of syntax and semantics. The research data was collected from American and U.K daily newspapers in three sections: Politics, Entertainment, and Sports and descriptive method is supposed to be main method of analysis. Accordingly, some possible suggestions in the language teaching and learning have been offered in the hope that they can help teaching and learning this verb more effectively.
