To evaluate the value of apolipoprotein A-I, B, and the apoB/AI ratio in the diagnostic of peripheral artery disease among patients with diabetes, we conducted a cross-sectional study of which they underwent clinical evaluation, standardized Doppler ultrasound and blood test. Area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve method was employed to estimate the discriminatory ability of apolipoprotein A-I, apolipoprotein B, and the ApoB/A-I ratio. A total of 159 patients were included. ApoA-I, ApoB, and the ApoB/A-I ratio show statistically significant associations with most clinical and Doppler ultrasound characteristics of PAD. In Pearson’s correlation analysis, apolipoproteins showed a stronger correlation with ABI than the traditional lipid profile.
43 Preoperative clinical, subclinical characteristics and nutritional status of gastric cancer patients at Vietnam National Cancer Hospital / Nguyen Van Dang, Nguyen Hong Luong // .- 2024 .- Volume 184 E15 - N 11 .- P. 77-86 .- 610
Gastric cancer ranked fourth for incidence and mortality of all cancers in Vietnam. Clinical symptoms in the early stages are often nonspecific. Patients may have epigastric pain, anorexia or weight loss. Gastroscopy combined with biopsy is a clinical test that helps diagnose gastric cancer. Endoscopic ultrasound, computed tomography of the abdomen and chest are important examinations to assess the stage of the disease. Gastric cancer patients had a high rate of malnutrition, and preoperative nutritional management represents a challenge. Cross-sectional descriptive research was conducted on 88 gastric cancer patients aged over 18 years old to describe preoperative clinical, subclinical characteristics and nutritional status at National Cancer Hospital from January to December 2023.

46 Anxiety level in patients with vital signs monitor at Cardiovascular Center, Hanoi Medical University / Dao Duy Viet, Nguyen Tra My, Nguyen Thi Doai // .- 2024 .- Volume 184 E15 - N 11 .- P. 117-123 .- 610
The Cardiovascular Center at Hanoi Medical University Hospital (HMUH) routinely employs vital signs monitoring systems for patient in severe conditions, post-intervention, and post-cardiothoracic surgery. However, confining patients to their beds often causes significant inconvenience. Additionally, alarm signals from these systems, while crucial for safety, can often be clinically insignificant, leading to patient anxiety. This study aimed to assess the anxiety levels and experiences of patients connected to continuous monitoring systems. Conducted between February and May 2024 at the Cardiovascular Center (HMUH), the cross-sectional study involved 108 patients who had been continuously monitored for at least 24 hours. Data were collected on demographics, reasons for monitoring, alarm frequency, clinical significance of alarms, and anxiety levels using the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS).
47 ICSI and conventional IVF, which one should be prefered for cases of pre-implantation genetic testing? / Nguyen Thi Cam Van, Truong Van Hanh, Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang, Tran Tran Hue, Khuat Huu Quan, Le Thi Phuong Lan, Vu Thi Tho, Tran Thi Kim Lien // .- 2024 .- Volume 184 E15 - N 11 .- P. 130-139 .- 610
Ever since its implementation in 1992, the intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) technique has been hailed as a game-changer for enhancing the outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment in cases of infertility due to male factors. However, ICSI was later widely applied to cases of infertility not due to male factors without evidence proving its effectiveness. According to the 2022 report of the European IVF Monitoring Council (EIM), the rate of fertilization cases using ICSI method accounts for 70% of IVF cases in European countries, meanwhile the conventional IVF method accounts for only 30% and this rate has remained stable from 2006 until recently. The question is whether cases of infertility not due to male factors that are indicated for pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) should be fertilized and create embryos using ICSI or conventional IVF to minimize invasiveness and reduce costs while still ensuring the accuracy of the test results.

Prostate cancer (PC) with bone metastasis has many clinical symptoms that very much affected to the patient’s quality of life (QoL). Improving cancer patient’s QoL is a mission for the health care professional workers. The study using questionaires SF-36 and UCLA-PCI-SF- a simple and common methods to evaluate the progress of orchiectomy treatment for bone metastases PC to assess the QoL and prostate-specific functions before and after orchiectomy. Clinical manifestations such as urinary tract, sexual function symptoms, anxiety, bone pain and insomnia affected the HRQoL (health related quality of life) of 53 participated patients were quite high from 69.8% up to 90.6%. After 1 month of orchiectomy, these symptoms were markedly reduced to less than 20%; Anxiety and Insomnia still affected 50.9% and 47.1% of study participant, respectively. HRQoL of 53 PC patients with bone metastasis after orchiectomy was remarkably improved. All domains of SF-36 and UCLA-PCI-SF after orchiectomy were statistically significantly increased with p-value < 0.05, except sexual bother.
49 Intrathyroidal parathyroid cyst presenting with recurrent kidney stones: A case report / Do Thu Thao, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong // .- 2024 .- Volume 184 E15 - N 11 .- P.147-150 .- 610
Parathyroid cysts are rare and can be the cause of persistent hypercalcemia leading to kidney stones. The aim of this article is to present a case presenting to the hospital with recurrent kidney stones and incidentally found hypercalcemia. From there, we discovered a cystic lesion in the thyroid gland. Combining ultrasound and cyst fluid aspiration to measure the concentration of parathyroid hormone in the fluid helped us confirm that the cystic lesion belonged to the parathyroid gland. The patient underwent surgery to remove the cyst and the blood calcium and parathyroid hormone levels returned to normal after surgery.
