The aim of this graduation paper is to suggest a Vietnamese version for Section 1 and 2:“Introduction” and “Atmospheric composition and behavior”, which is extracted from the book “Chemistry of the Environment” by Ronald A. Bailey, Herbert M. Clark, James P. Ferris, Sonja Krause and Robert L. Strong, and analyze the translation of some vocabulary and structures. The difficulties during the translation and some essential solutions are also listed at the end of the graduation paper.

My graduation paper is carried out with the aim of translating the introduction and the chapter 1 of the book “Selling the Sea” from English to Vietnamese. Another purpose of this graduation paper is the analysis of procedures of translating the text from which the difficulties and corresponding solutions are suggested.

Social Translation is a broad and diverse field where we not only translate but also possess a colorful knowledge about social issues. The aim of this graduation paper is to translate the part 1 of the book Investigating CultureAn Experiential Introduction to Anthropology with the title “ Disorientation and Orientation” from English into Vietnamese and analyze its vocabulary and structure. In addition, through this graduation paper, I also find out some difficulties that students face in social translation and give some effective solutions to help students translate a social text better.

After finishing gradution paper, the translator can deeply understand translation theory as well as applying it in to translation process. Moreover, the translator can be an expert in analyzing structure and vocabulary such as indentifying kinds of structure and context of the text.
