In this graduation paper, I selected the book “American Education” to translate into Vietnamese. It has 2 parts “The School and the Social Order” and “Power and Control in American Education” with eleven chapters. Chapter two “The Profession of teaching” is chosen because it mentions about some problems in teacher training such as what are the roles of teachers in American society and in the global market economy; the new measures are being used to certificate a teacher and how a teacher can get his/her certification.

Graduation paper is an important mission for all four-year students. During the process of translating, I aim to apply my knowledge in my first academic work and improve the analyzing skill in some difficult structures and then get more and more important experience to apply for new future job. As I mentioned above, my attention was attracted to this book at the first time I saw it so I would like to choose it to translate in my graduation paper and give a suggested version for Vietnamese who want to study or read in this field.
