132 Serum vascular endothelial growth factor levels and some characteristics of diabetic retinopathy patients / Vu Van Nga, Nguyen Thi Binh Minh, Dinh Thi My Dung, Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Hoang Thi Thu Ha, Le Thi Minh Phuong, Do Thi Le Hang, Do Thi Quynh, Pham Thi Thuy An, Le Ngoc Thanh, Tran Van Khanh, Vu Thi Thom // .- 2024 .- Volume 177 E14 - N 04 - May .- P. 74-82 .- 610

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a dangerous microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus (DM). The escalating prevalence of diabetes increases the rate of DR patients in Vietnam. Numerous studies have indicated that serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) can be used as a marker for monitoring the progression of this disease. Our study included 150 diabetic patients and 75 healthy individuals in the control group. Our study included 150 diabetic patients and a control group of 75 healthy individuals. We investigated the association between serum VEGF levels and some characteristics in diabetic retinopathy patients. Clinical data (pulse, blood pressure, medical history, and body mass index) and paraclinical data (Glucose, HbA1c) were collected. Serum samples were analyzed to determine VEGF concentrations. Our study fond that serum VEGF levels were higher in the group with DR compared to the other two groups and exhibited a correlation with glucose levels in diabetic patients (p < 0.05).

133 Prevalence and associated factors of gestational diabetes mellitus: A multicenter, cross-sectional study in mekong delta region / Tran Khanh Nga, Cao Ngoc Thanh, Pham Van Linh, Vo Thi Anh Trinh // .- 2024 .- Volume 177 E14 - N 04 - May .- P. 83-90 .- 610

The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and associated factors of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the Mekong Delta region. A multicenter, cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 1727 pregnant women undergoing oral glucose tolerance testing (OGTT) at 4 major central hospitals of 4 provinces in the Mekong Delta region from 06/2017 to 06/2022.

134 Bronchopulmonary dysplasia in extremely preterm infants: Prevalence and related factors / Nguyen Thi Van, Tran Dieu Linh, Le Minh Trac // .- 2024 .- Volume 177 E14 - N 04 - May .- P. 91-97 .- 610

Infants born extremely preterm are defined as a birth under 28 weeks gestational age. Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is the most common lung complication in this population and manyfactors can contribute to the development of BPD. The objective of this study was to identify the prevalence of BPD and to analyse the related factors of BPD in extremely preterm infants. Seventy two infants who met the inclusion criteria were included in the study. BPD was diagnosed according to Jobe and Bancalari definition. The prevalence of BPD was 79.2%. There was an inverse relationship between the percentage of BPD, the severity of BPD and the gestational age and birth weight. Invasive ventilation requirement of more than 7 days was the independent factor of BPD.

135 Evaluation of antitumor activity of saphia alkali K90 on dmba-induced carcinogenesis in swiss mice / Pham Thi Van Anh, Nguyen Phuong Dung, Mai Phuong Thanh // .- 2024 .- Volume 177 E14 - N 04 - May .- P. 106-114 .- 610

The present study aimed to initially evaluate the anti-tumor effect of orally administered Saphia Alkali K90 in 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA)-induced carcinogenesis in Swiss mice. Mice exposed to DMBA (total dose of 6 mg, p.o.) were treated with SAK90 at 15 ml/kg BW and 45 ml/kg BW daily. The vehicle was given to both normal and diseased controls. The change in body weight, mortality rate, tumor incidence, tumor burden, tumor yield, histopathology, and hematological and biochemical parameters were evaluated after 16 weeks of treatment.

136 Nutritional status and activities of daily living of Vietnamese older adults / Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, Ta Thanh Nga, Tran Phuong Thao, Dam Thi Phuong Lan, Nguyen Thuy Linh // .- 2024 .- Volume 177 E14 - N 04 - May .- P. 158-166 .- 613

140 Solitary metastasis to the pancreas from colon cancer treated with radical surgery: A case report and literature review / Pham The Anh, Truong Manh Cuong, Pham Tuan Anh // .- 2024 .- Volume 177 E14 - N 04 - May .- P. 204-211 .- 610

This report describes a rare case of pancreatic metastasis in a 56-year-old woman with a past medical history of malignancy. The patient initially presented with right breast cancer in 2008, which was treated with a modified radical mastectomy followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. Subsequently, she developed right colon cancer and underwent a right hemicolectomy with adjuvant chemotherapy in 2015. In October 2020, during a routine examination, a suspicious lesion was identified in the duodenum and head of the pancreas. A biopsy confirmed the presence of moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma. Following a comprehensive multidisciplinary consultation, the patient was recommended for exploratory surgery to assess the feasibility of a pancreatoduodenectomy (Whipple procedure) with subsequent ileocolic reanastomosis (reconnection of the ileum to the transverse colon), followed by systemic therapy.
