This graduation thesis is about tackles self-sabotage with a refreshing perspective. Brianna Wiest discusses its root cause and triggers, and recommends actions that will help anyone stop it from taking over their lives. They include dissecting damaging behaviors, developing emotional intelligence, and releasing trauma at a cellular level. By doing so, Wiest believes that anyone can release their highest potential and stop being the very mountain that hinders them from enjoying their best lives. The mountain has been used as a metaphor for the big challenges we face, especially ones that seem impossible to overcome. To scale our mountains, we actually have to do the deep internal work of excavating trauma, building resilience, and adjusting how we show up for the climb. In the end, it is not the mountain we master, but ourselves. Due to time limitation, I decided to literally translate chapter 7 of this book from English into Vietnamese. In addition, I discuss some required and difficult vocabulary and structures in the section in my graduation paper. By studying the process, I discovered some challenges for myself. In addition, at the end of the graduation paper, I proposed some corresponding solutions in translation procedures.
