462 In silico screening for anti-Zika Virus compounds from Eclipta prostrata by molecular docking / Thien-Hoang Ho, Uyen-Thanh Nguyen Thi, Quoc-Dang Quan, Kim-Tuyen Nguyen Thi, Trang H. D. Nguyen, Dinh Thach Bui // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 197-217 .- 610
Zika virus (ZIKV) belongs to the flavivirus family, and infection with ZIKV can lead to microcephaly, neurological issues like Guillain-Barré syndrome, and other birth defects. Zika virus can cause serious complications during pregnancy, such as delivery complications and pregnancy problems. It can also lead to severe illnesses, including swelling of the brain and spinal cord, as well as bleeding disorders. The Zika virus gained worldwide attention during the pandemic in Brazil, which led to extensive research efforts to discover effective and safe anti-Zika virus therapies. ADME prediction study found that echinocystic acid, eclalbasaponin I, and ecliptasaponin A have inhibitory abilities and are highly pharmacologically active, while α-amyrin and ursolic acid showed no results. However, all five substances are insoluble and lack optimal saturation, making oral absorption limited.
463 Investigating the impact of spike protein mutations on SARS-CoV-2 virulence in benin using network centrality and molecular docking approaches / Quan Ke Thai, Phuoc Huynh, Huyen Nguyen Thi Thuong, Quoc Dang Quan // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 219-234 .- 610
The COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing and spreading around the world, which means a continuous increase in the number of infections and death. SARS-CoV-2 constantly rapidly stored mutation in the Spike gene to adapt with the host cell. The Spike gene encoded spike protein directly interacts with hACE2 on the human cell surface. Herein, using the network centrality and molecular docking approaches, we detected key mutations that positively affect spike protein. Based on network centrality, we demonstrate that the A23403G (D614G) mutation in the Spike gene is the center of a network which means this mutation has a positive effect on the virus. In addition, analyzing the interaction of spike protein with hACE2, we highlighted that the mutation appeared in the RBD region by changing the electrostatic energy of the complex.
464 Expression of transcription factors involved in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition of the breast cancer cell line MCF-7 co-cultured with adipose tissue mesenchymal stem cells / Vu Thi Tien, Le Hoang Duc, Bui Van Ngoc, Nguyen Trung Nam // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 249-257 .- 610
Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women globally. The tumor microenvironment plays a vital role in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), leading to the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. The tumor microenvironment includes all components of the tumor cells, including the extracellular matrix, tumor vasculature, mesenchymal stem cells, immune cells, and fibroblasts. Understanding the interactions between mesenchymal stem cells and cancer cells is essential in determining the role of mesenchymal stem cells in diagnosing and treating breast cancer.
465 A nonsense mutation in BRCA1 gene in a Vietnamese patient with breast cancer / Nguyen Van Tung, Le Duc Huan, Do Minh Hien, Bui Bich Mai, Pham Cam Phuong, Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Ha Hong Hanh, Nguyen Thanh Hien, Nguyen Huy Hoang // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 259-268 .- 610
Breast cancer is the most frequent female cancer, and it is increasing at an alarming rate. The typical symptom of breast cancer is breast lumps or swellings, though they can also develop close to the breast or under the arm. Breast cancer usually spreads to distant organs such as the bone, liver, lungs, and brain. Approximately 95% of breast cancer patients who arrive with the early-stage disease show no macroscopic signs of metastases. Although it is possible to reduce some breast cancer risks through prevention, the majority of patients in low-income countries are detected at a late stage. Because of this, even though current therapy is improving, early diagnosis is still crucial for improving the quality of treatment and the survival rate. Sex, age, family history, and an unhealthy lifestyle are some of the risk factors that may increase the chances of getting this disease. Familial or hereditary breast cancer accounts for 10% of breast cancers. Mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes were responsible for 50% of all familial or hereditary breast cancer cases. In this research, mutations in a Vietnamese patient with familial breast cancer were analyzed using whole exome sequencing.
466 The anacardic acid-loaded nanoliposomes improved the anticancer activity in vitro / Do Thi Thao, Nguyen Thi Nga, Do Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Cuc, Trieu Ha Phuong, Dao Thi Thu Ha // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 269-279 .- 610
Anacardic acid accounts for approximately 77% of the cashew nut shell liquid from Anacardium occidentale, which was reported to have anticancer potential. Due to its water insolubility, the compound is hard to absorb leading to less bioavailability. Currently, using nanolipsomes as drug carriers in general and for anacardic acid in particular could be an effective solution. In this research, anacardic acid was incorporated into nanoliposomes by employing the thin-film method.
467 Sequencing and analysis of the Meq oncogene of MDV causing marek’s disease in Bac Ninh province from 2019 to 2022 / Doan Thi Thanh Huong, Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Do Thi Roan, Luu Minh Duc, Le Thi Hue, Le Thanh Hoa, Le Thi Kim Xuyen, Nguyen Thi Khue // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 281-291 .- 610
In this study, four MDV-1 (GaHV-2) strains causing the disease in Bac Ninh province during the 2019–2022 period were identified by multiplex Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Subsequently, the segments of 1020 bp encoding 339 amino acids of Meq gene (Marek’s disease virus EcoRI fragment Q) from four samples were collected and sequenced. Overall, this study provides valuable information on molecular characteristics of MDV-1 strains in Bac Ninh province during the 2019–2022 period.
468 Resistome and plasmidome in an extensively drug-resistant extra-intestinal pathogenic Escherichia coli isolated from a one-year-old child with respiratory distress syndrome / Nguyen Van Anh, Nguyen Thuy Duong, Tran Thi Thanh Tam, Nguyen Quang Huy // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 305-316 .- 618.92 22
This study aimed at identifying resistome and plasmidomes carrying antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs) in an extensively drug-resistant extra-intestinal pathogenic E. coli strain XP817 isolated from a one-year-old child with respiratory distress syndrome. Whole genome analysis of strain XP817 revealed 68 ARGs documented in the Comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance Database (CARD). In conclusion, our study underlines the crucial role of the ARG dissemination via horizontal gene transfer in E. coli as well as in the Enterobacteriaceae family.
469 The abundance of parasitic nematodes Halicephalobus species (Nematoda: Rhabditida) invading humans and animals in national parks of Vietnam / Le Tho Son, Bui Thi Mai Huong, Ha Bich Hong, Nguyen Thi Thu // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 2 .- P. 327-336 .- 578.6
In previous studies, horses were predominantly found to be hosts of Halicephalobus sp. nematodes, but in this study they are not presented in the parks, suggesting that other wild animals such as ruminants in the parks should be their hosts. In addition, we analyzed the 18S rDNA sequences of the isolated nematodes and found that they are likely divergent between the two ecological systems, suggesting the two nematode communities have evolved differently.
