Khoa học công nghệ có vai trò to lớn đối với phát triển kinh tế - xã hội ở Việt Nam nói chung và đồng bằng sông Cửu Long. Bài viết phân tích tác động của biến đổi khí hậu ở Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long, trên cơ sở đó đề xuất một số giải pháp nhằm nâng cao hiệu quả ứng dụng khoa học công nghệ vào các hoạt động kinh tế - xã hội, góp phần duy trì và chuyển đổi sinh kế bền vững cho người dân vùng Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long hiện nay.

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by abnormal proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes and infiltration of inflammatory cells into the site of inflammation. Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis, affecting up to 80–90% of psoriasis cases. Among inflammatory cells, myeloid dendritic cells or Langerhans cells are mainly activated cells during the pathogenesis of psoriasis to induce activation and differentiation of naive T cells into T helper cells (Th)1 and Th17 cells. SH2 domain-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase (SHP) is a negative regulator of the phosphorylation of several proteins involved in cellular differentiation, growth and activation. Chronic inflammation promotes tumor progression, which is characterized by the release of carcinogenic antigens, including alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and cancer antigen 125 (CA125) into blood and urine. They are common tumor markers to serve as predictors of cancer development and survival of cancer patients. To this end, blood samples of 103 psoriasis patients and 46 healthy subjects were collected. This study further hint for investigations on the functional role of SHP1 in regulating activation of immune cells present in psoriasis patients.

Myeloid leukemia (ML) is a cancer of the blood that begins when cells of the myeloid lineage uncontrollably change and grow. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a disorder of rapid, uncontrolled growth of immature myeloid cells in the blood and bone marrow. Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is characterized by the aberrant proliferation of myeloid cells and driven by the translocation of regions of the BCR and ABL genes to form the Philadelphia (Ph) chromosome. To this end, blood samples of 20 AML and 62 CML patients and the control group consisting of 37 healthy individuals were used to examine the mRNA expression of A20, OTUB1, OTUB2 and Cezanne genes by using quantitative RT-PCR and determine IL-6, TNF-α and IL-1β concentrations by using ELISA. In conclusion, this study revealed the different DUB involvement in the pathogenesis of ML, suggesting further investigations on gene polymorphisms and their functions linked to biological properties of leukemia cells.

The majority of autoimmune and allergic diseases are associated with abnormal expression of interleukin (IL)-33, a member of the IL-1 family of cytokines, that function dually as a proinflammatory cytokine and a transcriptional factor. We created an IL-33 inhibitor called "IL-33 Trap Fc" constructed by fusion of an Fc fragment of human immunoglobulin G1 and two distinct extracellular part receptors involved in interacting with IL-33, IL-1 receptors accessory protein, and IL-33 receptor. IL-33 Trap Fc was expressed by two systems, mammalian HEK293 cells and Pichia pastoris yeast. These data collectively suggested that IL-33 Trap Fc potently blocks IL-33 in vitro and in vivo, which may be a novel therapeutic strategy for IL-33-mediated allergic diseases.

Là một tỉnh miền núi phía còn nhiều khó khăn nhưng Hà Giang đã có nhiều nỗ lực trong quản lý chi và điều hành ngân sách nhà nước, đảm bảo đủ nguồn chi cho các nhiệm vụ phát triển kinh tế - xã hội. Tuy nhiên chống lãng phí trong chi thường xuyên và chi đầu tư phát triển vẫn là vấn đề cần đặt ra trong bối cảnh hiện nay. Từ thực tiễn hiện nay, tác giả đề xuất giải pháp chống lãng phí trong chi thường xuyên và chi đầu tư phát triển trên địa bàn tỉnh Hà Giang.

Yên Thành là một huyện đồng bằng của tỉnh Nghệ An, nguồn thu ngân sách nhà nước hàng năm còn thấp chưa đảm bảo được tự cân đối thu chi. Thời gian qua, việc quản lý thu ngân sách nhà nước của huyện Yên Thành còn hạn chế; một số nguồn lực tài chính chưa được động viên đầy đủ, chất lượng lập dự toán chưa tốt .. Do đó, việc đưa ra các biện pháp tăng cường quản lý thu trên địa bàn huyện nhằm tăng nguồn thu cho ngân sách hướng đến cân đối thu chi ngân sách là một yêu cầu cấp thiết để ổn định và phát triển kinh tế, xã hội của địa phương tron thời gian tới.

This study investigates the impacts of surfaces’ wettability on protein conformation. In order to get the insights, organosilicate (OGS) was utilized to modify the tissue culture plate, resulting in surfaces with different wettability, followed by fibronectin (FN) immobilization. Then, the surfaces were used to study the fibrinogen interaction, cell attachment, and spreading. The results showed that OGS-modified surfaces produced four different wettability, ranging from super-hydrophilic (OGS150), hydrophilic (OGS100), hydrophobic (OGS60), to super-hydrophobic (OGS5). Each surface possessed particular nature, resulting in the variation of FN molecules' structural change. The amount of FN adsorbed on the OGS-coated surfaces was shown not to be perfectly proportional to the results of fibrinogen interaction, cell attachment, and spreading. The super-hydrophobic surfaces (OGS5) were highest in the amount of immobilized FN and the efficiency in subsequent experiments among the OGS-coated surfaces group. Notably, the hydrophobic surface adsorbed the lowest amount of FN but achieved remarkable results in the following experiments. Thus, this study holds a promising potential in producing biocompatible materials in tissue engineering.

In this study, Lactobacillus plantarum VFE-04, L. rhamnosus VFE-08, and L. plantarum VFE-14, had been isolated from Vietnamese healthy adults, were able to deconjugate glycodeoxycholate (GDC) on MRS plates and MRS broth supplemented with GDC. In addition, deconjugating activity of L. plantarum VFE-04, L. rhamnosus VFE-08, and L. plantarum VFE-14 were also found in cell-free extract as expressed by amount of glycine that released in the supernatant. Four bsh genes including bsh1, bsh2, bsh3, and bsh4 have been identified by PCR in these strains. In addition, L. plantarum VFE-04, L. rhamnosus VFE-08, and L. plantarum VFE-14 also showed high ability to resist bile salts and low pH. The results of 16S rRNA gene analyses showed that L. plantarum VFE-04, L. rhamnosus VFE-08, and L. plantarum VFE-14 and had high similarity scores with L. plantarum ZZU 23 (100%), L. rhamnosus JCM 1136 (99%) and L. plantarum S7 (98.65%), respectively. This study suggests that L. plantarum VFE-04, L. rhamnosus VFE-08, and L. plantarum VFE-14 have the potential to be explored as probiotics in the management of hypercholesterolaemia in near future.

Trichophyton rubrum is a causative agent responsible for human chronic dermatophytosis worlwide. It is a common causative agent of the dermatophyte infections and resistant to many antifungal drugs. Oxidative damaging agents belong to a strong antimicrobial group and have been intensively investigated. The synergistic oxidative damage can occur if the agents react with metal cations. Therefore, in this study the antifungal activity of formulas containing the two oxidative damaging agents, including hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and 8-hydroxyquinoline (8HQ), in combination with metal cations has been determined to examine the synergistic damage in T. rubrum isolated from the skin of a dermatological patient. The isolate was identified by morphology observations, biochemical tests and sequence analysis of ITS1-4 gene, in comparison with the similar ITS nucleotide sequences of others.

The sea area of the Truong Sa Archipelago, Vietnam - outpost island region of the country has a special geographical location and plays an important role in economic development as well as security and defense of Vietnam. Here, the first time for isolation of heterotrophic marine microalgae is precious. In this paper, the results on isolation, identification, and selection of suitable culture conditions of the strain Thraustochytrium pachydermum TSL10 isolated from the sea area of Spratly Island, Truong Sa Archipelago, Vietnam in 2021 were presented.
