Bệnh thấp tim là một bệnh viêm cấp tính có tính chất toàn thân liên quan đến miễn dịch chỉ xảy ra sau một hay nhiều đợt viêm họng do liên cầu beta tan huyết nhóm máu A. Là bệnh có tổn thương khớp và biến chứng trên tim mạch.
