64991Technical writing

The purpose of this book is to discuss the principles and practice of the kind of writing required of engineers and physical scientist as part of their professional work. It consists of six sections as such preliminary problems, special techniques of technical writing, transitions - introductions and conclusions, types of reports, report layout, the library research report.

64992Technical writing : a practical writing

Part 1: Back ground; Part 2: Document; Part 3: Futher information.

64993Technical writing : a reader-centered approach : 3rd ed.

It is exhaustive in details and examples, but easy to read and use. It also covers the entire technical realm - with the exception of on-line help systems. This book is not an advanced course on word processing or using RoboHELP, but rather is an advanced course on the entire technical writing profession.

64994Technical writing and professional communication : 2nd ed.

This book is designed for intermediate and advanced students in both basic and applied science and business and other technically oriented professions.

64995Technical writing for success : a school-to-work approach

An engaging writing style that appeals to today's students is combined with a strong practical approach to technical writing--what it is, who reads it, and how to achieve success in this highly relevant field. Coverage includes both technical writing ad technical reading.

64996Technically-write! : communicating in a technological era

Chapter 1: A technical person's approach to writing; Chapter 2: Meet "H. L. Winman and Associates"; Chapter 3: Technical correspondence; Chapter 4: Short informal reports; Chapter 5: Longer informal and semiformal reports; Chapter 6: Formal reports; Chapter 7: Other technical documents; Chepter 8: Illustrating technical documents; Chapter 9: Technically-speak.

64997Technique of film and video editing : theory and practice

This book puts into context the storytelling choices an editor will have to make against a background of theory, history, and practice. include the MTV style, psychoanalytic ideas, and the appropriation of style over content. New filmmakers whose work is examined in this edition include Spike Lee, Julie Dash, Atom Egoyan, Quentin Tarantino, and Oliver Stone.

64998Techniques in microbiology : a student handbook

Lammert’s approach is visual and incorporates “voice balloons” that keep the student focused on the process described. The techniques are those that will be used frequently for studying microbes in the laboratory, and include those identified by the American Society for Microbiology in its recommendations for the Microbiology Laboratory Core Curriculum (recommendations in which the author participated).

64999Technobabble

"Technobabble": the pervasive and indiscriminate use of computer terminology, especially as it is applied to situations that have nothing at all to do with technology. "Technobabble examines the new computer lexicon from an etymological, historical, and anecdotal perspective. It reveals technobabble's origins among the "high priests" of the advanced research laboratories of the 1950s, describing the folkways by which this sublanguage becomes incorporated into the vocabulary of the larger society, and predicting some of the new dimensions technobabble is likely to assume in coming years.

65000Techno-economic balance of load-adaptive telecommunication network operation for energy efficiency improvements

Load-adaptive telecommunication network operation has crystallized as a promising option for improving the network energy efficiency. On the one hand significant energy savings are expected when the network capacity follows the traffic load, on the other hand efforts for preparing networks for this kind of dynamic operation are necessary regarding, for example, systems and network processes. To account for all this, an energy-related and a generalized techno-economic balance is developed. Results calculated for exemplary traffic load curves and boundary conditions show that there are significant monetary benefits to be expected in particular in case of moderate validity periods of the network configurations. Furthermore, the need to evaluate the load-adaptive network operation case from a techno-economic viewpoint carefully before employing it in a particular telecommunication network becomes evident.
