52321Perspectives of polarons
The book presents the development of the polaron theory and its application in various fields of physics. Nowadays methods of the polaron theory are widely used in such sciences as chemistry, solid-state and nuclear physics, etc. The monograph includes selected articles, based on the talks, given at the Workshops which were held in Pushchino in 1993 and 1994. These articles covered different aspects of polaron physics and quantum field. They involved both the fundamental research such as bipolarons and the polaron applications to study the self-trapped electron state in various liquids. We hope our book will be of interest to a broad range of readers, which can be able to sense the excitement of the articles.
52322Perspectives on pathophysiology
Copstead did not include some important neuro pathologies, but there are many books specific to those areas. In this large book, diseases are grouped according to similar pathogenesis and it gives the clinical significance of each. This should be a must for the clinical practioner or health profession student.
52323Perspectives on personality : 8th ed.
The various perspectives of the field of psychology provide the organizing framework of this successful text: each perspective is presented in two chapters and is introduced by a prologue that describes the assumptions and themes of the perspective. Engaging and very successful, this new edition introduces hundred of new citations; presents the ideas logically and orderly and concludes with a unique Integration chapter that brings the various perspectives in then field together.
52324Persuasion : theory and research : 2nd ed.
This volume provides a clear, straightforward introduction to theory and research in persuasion, leaving instructors free to hand-pick non-text materials to satisfy ancillary aims. It includes a discussion of research concerning the production of persuasive messages, as well as the more traditional research on the study of message effects. The text also provides a careful, comprehensive and critical treatment of the relevant research literature including examination of primary as well as secondary and tertiary sources, consideration of a wide body of published research from diverse fields, attention to avoiding premature generalizations from limited research evidence, and a thorough treatment of relevant theoretical and methodological quest.
52325Persuasion : theory and research : 3rd ed.
Contents: Persuation, attitudes and actions. Social judgment theory. Functional approaches to attitude. Belief-based models of attitude. Cognitive dissonance theory. Reasoned action theory. Stage models. Elaboration likelihood model...
52326Perturbation methods, instability, catastrophe, and chaos
This important book introduces perturbation and qualitative methods for differential equations in terms understandable to students with only a basic knowledge of calculus and ordinary linear differential equations. Theorems are stated clearly with their limitations and restrictions and are applied to solve examples from various disciplines. The writing style is informal and new ideas are introduced gradually via concepts already familiar to the reader.

52330Petroleum hydrocarbon degradation of husk biochar product carrying biofilm-forming bacteria
Environmental pollution problems caused by petroleum and its derivatives such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) has remarkably increased and become a major global threat to human health and ecological equilibrium, resulting in a crucial need for remediation. Recently, in order to solve this problem, biofilm is one of the biodegradation approaches which could degrade and transform oil components effectively. Moreover, to enhance the petroleum hydrocarbons removal efficiency and easy to apply in any place bio-carriers, biochar was used to attach biofilm-forming microorganisms. Biochar is not only used as a carrier for microorganisms but also a source of substrates to help absorb a part of aromatic compounds. Therefore, in this investigation, we used the mixture of multiple petroleum-degrading and biofilm-forming bacterial strains immobilized on husk biochar to create an oil-degrading product. The ability of oil-degrading bacteria immobilized on biochar, planktonic bacteria and biochar without bacteria on the elimination of total petroleum hydrocarbons and several aromatic hydrocarbons was investigated.
