This paper is carried out with the aim of translating the first 5 chapters of the book "How to live on twenty-four hours a day" by Arnold Bennett from English into Vietnamese. Another purpose of this paper is the analysis of procedures of translating the text from which the difficulties and corresponding solutions are suggested.
