This paper reviews air pollution situation in Ho Chi Minh city and Ha Noi. We also recommend policies to tackle the problem: (i) upgrade the national air quality standard, (ii) install systematic and high-quality network of monitor stations, and (iii) remove means of transport that unmet emission regulations.

This study assesses the emissions of PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NOx, CO, CH 4, N2O, and CO2 from CFPPs in Vietnam in 2019, and 2021 and predicts those in 2030 based on coal consumption and emission factors. A method to estimate PM2.5 and PM10 emission based on the emission of PM and size distribution was proposed to overcome the difficulty of lacking data and difficult to measure those parameters in the flue gas.
