1 Molecular characterization of methicilin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strain BM85 isolated from a Vietnamese patient with bloodstream infection / Hoang Dinh Phuc, Tran Thi Thanh Tam, Le Thi Thu Hang, Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, Vu Dang Hai Long, Kieu Duy Hung, Anne-Laure Bañuls, Nguyen Quang Huy // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 1 .- P. 35-44 .- 610
In this study, molecular characteristics related to antibiotic resistance of MRSA strain BM85 were investigated by whole-genome sequencing of a sample isolated from a patient with bloodstream infection at Bach Mai Hospital, Vietnam.
2 Preparation of inclusion complex between ellagic acid and hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin / Pham Thi Lan, Bui Van Cuong, Le Thi My Hanh, Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan, Kushnir Roman, Usacheva Tatyana // .- 2023 .- Vol 21 - Number 1 .- P. 45-53 .- 615
In recent years, the research and discovery of antioxidants of natural origin, such as those found plants, have increased dramatically. Ellagic acid is a bioactive compound found in many fruits and vegetables, which carries many biological activities, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and antibacterial activities. However, the low solubility of ellagic acid in water decreases its practical application. In this study, a complex of ellagic acid with hydroxypropyl-cyclodextrin was synthesized in the water-ethanol solvent.
3 Genome mining reveals chitin degradation potential of Streptomyces parvulus VCCM 22513 / Quach Ngoc Tung, Nguyen Thi Thu An, Vu Thi Hanh Nguyen, Phi Quyet Tien // .- 2023 .- Vol 45 - Number 2 - June .- P. 27-36 .- 363
In the present study, out of 22 Streptomyces strains, Streptomyces parvulus VCCM 22513 produced the highest chitinase activity. Time courses of incubation revealed that the maximum chitinase (0.91 ± 0.04 U/mL) of this strain was observed after 96 hours in the yeast extract salts medium supplemented with 10.0 g/L colloidal chitin. Additional genomic analysis of VCCM 22513 was also conducted to discover the genomic information related to chitin degradation.
4 Purification and characterization of a recombinant beta-glucosidase in Escherichia coli / Nguyen Thi Binh, Nguyen Thi Quy, Le Thi Thu Hong, Truong Nam Hai // Công nghệ sinh học - Vietnam Journal of Biotechnology .- 2022 .- Vol. 20(4) .- P. 599-607 .- 570
Beta-glucosidase (BGL) is anenzyme involvedin the degradationof cellulose and playsan essential partin many biological processes. Currently, most BGLs applied in the industryare derived from fungi. Exploring novel BGLswith desired propertiesisattractive. The recombinant BGL derived from microorganismssurroundingwhite-rot fungus in Cuc Phuong National Park was successfully expressed in Escherichia coliRosetta 1(denoted asthe GH3S2 gene). The protein GH3S2was purified by an affinity chromatography column using buffer PBS 50 mM (NaCl-free) pH 7, and the enzymewas collected in buffer containing imidazole 300 mM.
5 A review of the bioactivity of beauvericin - a bioactive compound produced by fungi / Đoan Manh Dung, Tran Quang Huy // Khoa học Đại học Đông Á .- 2022 .- Vol 1(3) .- P. 2-11 .- 570
Beauvericin is a well-known insecticidal, antibacterial, antiviral and cytotoxic mycotoxin with a cyclic hexadepsipeptide structure that is a piece of the enniatin antibiotic family. It could be applied in several fields such as insecticides and pharmaceuticals. Other aspects of beauvericin like the toxicity and the determination techniques were mentioned in previous reports but there are seldom published about the bioactivity. Therefore, this is the first review discussing some various bioactivities of the fungal substance beauvericin such as insecticidal activity, and antitumor activity.
