21441Extraterrestrials
The book covers various iterations of SETI, or the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, both in listening for messages from space as well as sending them. Roush also covers more recent efforts to find exoplanets, worlds similar enough to our own to possibly harbor life in even very basic forms. Some of this research is driven by discoveries of 'extremophile' life here on Earth in places and conditions previously considered to be unconducive to life forms.

21443Extreme physics : properties and behavior of matter at extreme conditions
Focusing on computational modeling, this book offers a comprehensive introduction to the basic physical theory on matter at extreme conditions and the mathematical modeling techniques involved in numerical simulations of its properties and behavior. End-of-chapter exercises make this an invaluable resource for both academic researchers and graduate students.
21444Extreme programming explained : embrace change
Extreme Programming (XP) was conceived and developed to address the specific needs of software development conducted by small teams in the face of vague and changing requirements. This new lightweight methodology challenges many conventional tenets, including the long-held assumption that the cost of changing a piece of software necessarily rises dramatically over the course of time. XP recognizes that projects have to work to achieve this reduction in cost and exploit the savings once they have been earned.

21448F-100 super sabre units of the Vietnam war
Osprey's examination of the F-100 Super Sabre Units' participation in the Vietnam War (1955-1975). While the F-105 Thunderchief and F-4 Phantom flew the majority of the fighter-bomber missions over North Vietnam, the Thunderchief's service predecessor, the F-100 Super Sabre stayed on to fight the air war in South Vietnam until June 1971. Although it was designed as an air defence fighter, and was later given nuclear capability as the mainstay of Tactical Air Command's deterrent posture, it was the F-100's toughness, adaptability and reliability that made it ideally suited to the incessant 'taxi-rank' close support and counter-insurgency missions in Vietnam.
21449F-100D/F super sabre - walk around no. 48
F-100D/F Super Sabre Walk Around. North American's F-100 Super Sabre was the first of the famous Century Series fighters, and America's first capable of supersonic speed in level flight. During the Cold War, it stood as a guardian of freedom around the world. Capable of carrying nuclear weapons while operating from bases in the US, Pacific and Europe, it helped deter communist aggression. In Vietnam, Super Sabres shouldered the bulk of the attack role for many years provided a platform for high-speed forward Air Control, and pioneered the Wild Weasel concept before the F-105s and F4s took on the role. Under peaceful skis, performances by the USAF Skyblazers and Thunderbirds served to awe the crows and inspire future pilots. At the end of their service lives, more than 200 F-100s served as target drones, training the crews of later generations of fighters.
