20201Effects of augmentation with Bacillus sp. DT1 on carbonfuran degradation and bacterial community in soil
Carbofuran is frequently applied to crop fields to combat insects globally causing serious environmental pollution. In this study, the enhanced degradation of carbofuran in soil by augmentation with Bacillus sp. DT1 was determined. The results showed that the augmentation with the bacterial strain increased the degradation by almost 30% compared to attenuation after 30 days at an initial concentration of 10 mg/kg dry soil. The half-life values of the insecticide were 41.6 and 17.9 days for attenuation and augmentation, respectively. Moreover, the augmentation with Bacillus sp. DT1 significantly increased sequence numbers of 16 S rRNA in soil compared to the initial stage. However, α-diversity indices, i.e., values of OTUs, ACE, Chao1 and Shannon showed no statistical differences in soil with and without the insecticide addition, with and without augmentation after 30 days. These results showed that carbofuran did not inhibit or stimulate the growth of soil bacteria at 10 mg/kg dry soil.
20202Effects of rubiadin-3-methyl ether on the immune properties of hUC-MSCs
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have become an effective tool for treating immune-related diseases due to their multilineage potential and immunomodulatory capabilities. One of the main factors contributing to their immunomodulatory capabilities is the IDO cascade, which was chosen as the main subject in this research. The IDO-Kyn-AHR-CYP cascade was chosen to evaluate the immunomodulatory properties of treated MSCs, with expression levels of the key gene IDO (indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase) selected as the screening criterion. Cultured human umbilical cord MSCs (hUC-MSCs) were treated with different natural bioactive compounds.
20203Effects of simulated microgravity on senescent human fibroblasts
This study aimed to assess the effects of simulated microgravity (SMG) on senescent human fibroblasts (HFs). The HFs were treated with 150 µM H2O2 in a culture medium for 90 minutes for senescent induction. The senescent HFs were induced SMG for 72 hours by a Gravity simulator, while the control group was treated in the same CO2 incubator. Cell morphology analysis showed that the SMG condition retrieved the fibroblastic morphology from the senescence. WST1 assay and cell counting indicated that the senescent HFs viability from the SMG group was higher than the control group (OD value of 0.80 ± 0.13 vs. 0.64 ± 0.11, respectively).

20205Efficacy of auricular acupressure using semen vaccariae (Wang Bu Liu Xing) seeds on acupoints of nada protocol in treating primary insomnia: A pilot study
This pilot study first aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of this twenty-day auricular acupressure using Semen Vaccariae (Wang Bu Liu Xing) in improving the sleeping conditions of primary insomnia patients. The secondary aim was to evaluate the improvement of some other self-reported symptoms caused by insomnia. A clinical prospective pre–post study was designed, enrolling 60 primary insomnia patients. Each patient was administered the auricular acupressure on five acupoints of NADA protocol of both ears by applying the Vaccariae seeds and was instructed to gently press 1 minute/acupoint each time, four times a day for twenty consecutive days.
20206Efficiency of ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region in identifying cordyceps species
In this study, seven Cordyceps samples were investigated based on the analysis of ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region. The obtained results would contribute an additional DNA database for specifically identifying species in Cordyceps genus in Vietnam.
20207Efficiency wage models of the labor market
Efficiency Wage Models of the Labor Market explores the reasons why there are labor market equilibria with employers preferring to pay wages in excess of the market-clearing wage and thereby explains involuntary unemployment. This volume brings together a number of the important articles on efficiency wage theory. The collection is preceded by a strong, integrative introduction, written by the editors, in which the hypothesis is set out and the variations, as described in subsequent chapters, are discussed.

20209Efficient and flexible reading : 7th ed.
Efficient and Flexible Reading" teaches readers how to vary their approach to written texts based on the material and their purpose for reading. In addition to instruction in literal and critical comprehension skills, vocabulary, and study skills.
20210Efficient and flexible reading : 8th ed.
Encouraging students to read actively and critically, to approach reading as a thinking process, and to analyze their own reading and learning strategies, Efficient and Flexible Reading teaches students how to vary their approach to written texts based on the material and their purpose for reading. Efficient and Flexible Reading teaches students how to identify text structures and thought patterns for more efficient learning. Emphasizing reading as an active thinking process, the author presents systems for monitoring concentration, comprehension, and recall, encouraging students to assess the reading assignment and to select the appropriate strategy to suit the situation.
