11321Chemical composition and antifungal activity of Annona reticulata L.
Annona reticulata L. is a small deciduous tree species of Annonaceae, traditionally used for treatment of various ailments. The present study investigated the chemicals of the leaves of Annona reticulate and identified three compounds, including taraxerol (1), fridelin (2), and myricetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (3), using NMR spectroscopy. Among them, fridelin (2) is isolated first time from this species. The extracts and purified compound (3) were subjected to the examination of their effects on fungal activity with two fungi strains (Fusarium oxysporum and Pyricularia oryzae) using disc diffusion method. The results demonstrate beneficial effects of Annona reticulata as the antifungal activity for medicinal usages.
11322Chemical composition of Elsholtzia ciliata (Thunb.) Hyland essential oil in Vietnam with multiple biological utilities: a survey on antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer activities
Elsholtzia ciliata (Thunb.) Hyland is commonly known as Vietnamese balm - a spicy, lemon-scented culinary herb in Asian cuisine, especially in Vietnam. The biological activities of E. ciliata essential oils (Ec EOs) in Vietnam have yet to be thoroughly studied and have received less attention than other species of genus Elsholtzia in the world. In this study, we evaluated the antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer of Ec EOs and examined their chemical compositions.
11323Chemical composition of Premna serratifolia L. leaf essential oil growing in Vietnam = Thành phần hóa học tinh dầu lá của Premna serratifolia L. ở Việt Nam
The essential oil extracted from the leaves of Premna serratifolia underwent hydrodistillation using a Clevenger-type apparatus and was subsequently subjected to analysis through gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The predominant compounds in the essential oil were those with sesquiterpene skeletons, in both hydrocarbon and oxygenated forms. Notable constituents included caryophyllene oxide, accounting for 23.4% of the oil, (E)-βcaryophyllene at 15.5%, as well as phytol (6.9%), α-copaene (5.5%), and δ-cadinene (4.4%).
11324Chemical composition of the essential oil from Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. petals growing wild in Quang Nam province (former), Vietnam = Thành phần hóa học của cánh hoa sen (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.) mọc hoang dại ở Quảng Nam (cũ), Việt Nam
Lotus petals (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.) were subjected to hydrodistillation to extract the essential oil, which was subsequently analyzed for its chemical composition using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The essential oil was dominated by aliphatic hydrocarbon compounds and their derivatives, such as tricosane (31.5%), pentacosane (19.4%), heneicosane (13.0%), heptacosane (10.8%), and palmitic acid (10.0%).
11325Chemical dynamics in extreme environments
This book illustrates the importance of detailed chemical dynamics and the role it plays in the phenomenology of a number of extreme environments. Each chapter addresses one or more extreme environments, outlines the associated chemical mechanisms of relevance, and then covers the leading edge science that elucidates the chemical coupling. The chapters exhibit a balance between theory and experiment, gas phase, solid state, and surface dynamics, and geophysical and technical environments.
11326Chemical engineering
This book consists of seven chapters such as Reactor design - general principles; Flow characteristics of reactors - flow modelling; Gas- solid reactions and reactors; Gas-liquid and gas- liguid-solid reactors; Biochemical reaction engineering; Sensors for measurement and control; ...
11327Chemical functionalization of carbon nanomaterials : chemistry and applications
The book covers modern techniques to characterize chemically functionalized carbon nanomaterials as well as characterization of surface functional groups. It includes contributions from international leaders in the field who highlight the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary flexibility of functionalized carbon nanomaterials. The book illustrates how natural drawbacks to carbon nanomaterials, such as low solubility, can be countered by surface modifications and shows how to make modifications.
11328Chemical ionization mass spectrometry : 2nd ed.
This book provides a comprehensive, up-to-date review of CIMS applications in structural elucidation and quantitative analytical studies. For the benefit of readers without a background in gaseous ion chemistry, a thorough review is presented in Chapter 2. Other chapters discuss such topics as reagent ion systems within the context of the thermochemistry and kinetics of the ionization process, including reactions and the type of information obtained; isotopic exchange reactions; stereochemical effects in chemical ionization; and reactive ion/molecule collisions in quadrupole cells.
11329Chemical kinetics : 3rd ed.
Basic concepts of both experimental and theoretical chemical kinetics are concisely explained for those seeking a general knowledge of the subject from this well known text, now being totally revised and updated. In addition, the book is an invaluable starting point for those embarking on research in kinetics and physical chemistry. Extensive chapter bibliographies point the way toward more detailed accounts or specialized aspects. Historical background included in both chapter introductions and biographical sketches of important researches in chemical kinetics.
