Matrices, such as air, water, sediments and biota, are treated in various chapters; Part II covers the application areas. Compounds of interest include PCBs, PAHs, phenolic compounds, pesticides, detergents, radionuclides, marine toxins and organometallics; Part III comprises analytical quality assurance in environmental programmes. There is an increasing demand for more reliable and accurate data. This part reflects the conflicting viewpoints of different authors and American and EEC standards; The last part of the book is devoted to the implementation of novel and emerging analytical techniques, including a variety of hyphenated methods.
